Lafayette 7 to add New Seating
Lafayette, IN – February 12, 2019 - Goodrich Quality Theaters (GQT) Inc., headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan is closing the Lafayette 7 theater for a 5 week remodeling project starting Monday, February 18, 2019. The half-million dollar renovation will feature new comfortable, deluxe rocker seats in all auditoriums and renovations to the lobby and concession stand. Lafayette 7 is expected to re-open on Friday, March 22, 2019 with all new seats featuring reserved ticketing. Customers can choose their specific seat from the GQT website, mobile app, box office or at the self-serve ticket kiosks.
The new seats in Lafayette 7 will be a roomier chair featuring a higher back and wider arm rests. They will not be recliner seats like its sister theater Eastside 10 IMAX.
“We’ve learned there are some people that love recliner seating, and there are some that don’t,” says Brian Eichstaedt, regional manager of Goodrich Quality Theaters. “We chose to put in the deluxe seats to give moviegoers a choice in Lafayette; we’ve picked a very nice chair and our customers are going to love the updates,” adds Eichstaedt.
The Lafayette 7 remodel comes shortly after renovation and re-opening of Eastside 10 IMAX this past December, and the seating updates to Wabash Landing 9 in 2018. The IMAX auditorium at the Eastside theater is scheduled for completion in early summer.
